This past Thursday James of Original Concepts put on his regular Thursday night event called Sake and Soul. Which consisted of Live music from Omar, and Shai Wisdom. Some Comedians by the likes of Jay Martin, and Rob Clifford. The Dj for the night was none other than Dj Royale of Grand Groove Dj’s.
Saturday night SSR was going down inside Toika lounge. Despite the hwy closures people made it out to party and have a good time.
Finally got around to posting the Swerve pics. It was a great night with the team as usual. Big shouts goes out to Bozack, Big Philly aka Solepurpose, Dj Royale, Big Jacks and Dj Eleven.
Saturday Night Main Event is a concept party that was brought to life by the likes of Notaurious, Prizefighter, Grand Groove and Sole Purpose.
Saturday Night Main Event aims to answer these questions and more by putting rappers, singers, producers, crews, cities and more, against each other in a musical battle orchestrated by 2 of Toronto’s finest! DJ Mensa and DJ Royale go at it head to head in a four turntable battle.
There was three battles for the night. R.Kelly vs. Mary J Blige, Bounty vs. Beanie Man and the Main event was Timberland vs. Neptunes.

This past Friday I was asked to shoot an event called Assorted Goods which took place at Dazzling (291 Kings St.W). Which was also a bday celebration for the 2009 & 2010 Toronto RebBull 3Style Champ Dj Mensa. The hosts for the night were Big Philly (Solepurpose) and Bozack Morris (black rap)
The sounds for the night was provided by Big Jacks (Black rap, Grand Groove), Dj Royale (Grand Groove) andDj Mensa(prizefighter).
On Saturday February 27th my homie Big Philly and Dj Shai Brought “Street Soul Rockers” to Dazzling lounge @ 291 King st. W. The music for the night was provided by Dj Shai (Xixgon Int’l), Dj MRKY BOY (Family Tree) and special guest Dj Royale (Grand Groove).
The party had a couple of glitches that were fixed with quickness to ensure the kept party going. Even the NBA legend Rick Marhorn from the Pistons “Bad Boys” team in the late 80′s was in attendance and doing his thing.
It was a very successful night, and I would like to thank Big Philly (Solepurpose) for bringing me on to capture the event, and everyone else that came out and made it such hit.
They say that “Good Things Come in 3’s” so the good folks at Sole Purpose decided to put that theory into motion with a night that you won’t soon forget!
